Zeke Hersh grew up in Washington state and fell in love with fly fishing at an early age. Then moving to Colorado in 1992, his passion progressed. Zeke started guiding in 1996 and then shortly after, Zeke started a fly shop in Breckenridge, Colorado called Blue River Anglers.
Zeke’s passion for float fishing started in these early days of his career. In 2014 Zeke sold his business and decided to pursue other career opportunities while guiding part-time. This brief sabbatical gave clarity that the fly fishing industry was what Zeke was supposed to be doing.
Zeke soon found himself as Trouts Fly Fishing’s head float fishing guide out of Denver and Frisco, CO.
In the winter of 2017, Zeke moved to Sarasota, Florida, to pursue a dream of becoming a Captain and saltwater fly fishing guide. This was an amazing learning experience, gaining fishing and boating knowledge, obtaining a Captain’s license, starting a guide service and making some great friends.
In the summer of 2018, a job opportunity became available with Trouts Fly Fishing and now Zeke is acting as Trouts Fly Fishing’s Regional General Manager, Outfitting Manager, and Head Float Fishing Guide.
Zeke has been guiding and float fishing in Colorado for 24 years. The Colorado River has a special place in Zeke’s heart. Besides working and floating the rivers many sections Zeke loves to talk about this amazing River and Colorado’s fishing and outdoor opportunities.
