Description
But this book is more than a tale of a trout’s life. It is a meditation on:
The art and poetry of fly fishing
The solitude of wading in a current, surrounded by mountains and silence
The cycles of nature, survival, and renewal
The quiet respect between angler and trout
The realization that fly fishing isn’t only about the fish—it’s about the river itself
Written in a style that is part memoir, part river journal, and part storybook, Timmy the Trout is for fly fishers, outdoor lovers, and dreamers alike. Whether you are a seasoned angler, someone who has never held a fly rod, or a reader who simply loves stories that capture the beauty of nature, this book invites you to see the world differently—from beneath the surface.
Because the river isn’t only about water and fish.
It’s about life, courage, mystery, and grace.
So step in. Wade deep. And let the river speak.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dan Bryant, an entrepreneur and author, resides in Avon, Colorado, with his beloved wife Henrietta, affectionately known as Henny. Bryant’s deep passion for the outdoors eventually led him to achieve one of his lifelong dreams: becoming a fly-fishing guide in Alaska. This adventurous career nearly turned tragic when he survived a grizzly bear attack on July 2, 1980—a date that would later hold significant personal importance. Six years after this incident, Bryant met his future wife, Henny, while working at a hotel in Vail, Colorado. They married on July 2, 1988, and soon thereafter, both embraced Christianity as a central aspect of their lives.
Today, Bryant co-owns Map the Xperience, an outdoor recreation map company, with his partner Greg. He dedicates most of his leisure time to outdoor activities such as fly-fishing and hunting, and cherishes moments spent with his family. Throughout various personal challenges, including the loss of loved ones, health issues, and life’s general trials, Bryant’s faith in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit has remained steadfasted in guide training schools and rowing certification programs, accumulating over 20,000 commercial river miles as a guide and trainer.
