Williams Fork River - More Than A Buggy Place

Chris Wells has been a full-time professional guide for more than 20 years. One of his favorite rivers to guide on is the Williams Fork in central Colorado which he calls one of the "buggiest places" he knows. Yellow sallies, caddis, midges, baetis, tricos, stoneflies and red quills are more than abundant and the trout feed like crazy on them. Join us to learn about the Williams Fork River, why it's so special for Chris and how to fish it for the best results.

Since then, Capt. Chris Wells has been guiding full-time for the past twenty-two years. He now splits his year between the world-class rivers of Colorado and the legendary flats of the Lower Florida Keys. Capt. Chris Wells is a certified U.S. Coast Guard Captain and guides the Lower Florida Keys from March through June. Capt. Chris Wells has been guiding in the Florida keys for the past fifteen years.

In the Florida Keys, Captain Chris Wells fishes for tarpon, bonefish and permit, however, his specialty is guiding fly anglers to the ultimate catch...a tarpon on fly! Tarpon fishing has consumed his every thought since the first time he hooked one at the young age of 18. Since then, he has had a passion for, or as others would describe it, an obsession for fly fishing for tarpon.

Captain Chris Wells spends the remainder of the year guiding anglers on the world-class rivers of Colorado from July through February. By growing up in the Centennial state, Captain Chris Wells was fortunate to have learned the nuances and intricacies of trout fishing in Colorado.
