ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
Mikey Wier started fly-fishing at age 7, and the sport has been a big part of his life ever sense. Mikey was born in New Zealand, and moved to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at age 2. He spent much of his childhood chasing around bass and trout in the Hwy 88 region. Mikey joined the Delta fly fishers at age 9 and began tying flies. He further developed his skills over the years and now prides himself on trying to fish with only flies that he has tied.

Mikey moved to Lake Tahoe 10 years ago and has been snowboarding in the winters and working in the fly fishing industry in the summers, for the past 10 years. He started out as a shop employee with the Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters and has been a full time guide in the Tahoe area for the past 8 seasons. Mikey most frequently guides the Carson Rivers, Pleasant Valley, the Walker Rivers, The Truckee and Little Truckee, and the high country lakes.

In addition to guiding, Mikey also started and runs Burl Productions. They do FISH EYE Fly Fishing Video Magazine and have worked on several other projects such as The Trout Bum Diaries. Burl Productions is the first fishing oriented production company to bring non-instructional, hard core fishing entertainment based videos to the market. Burl Productions still prides itself on producing the most exciting videos available today.

Andy Burk is one of the most influential people in the sport of fly-fishing today. Andy Currently works for Dave Stanly at the Reno Fly Shop. He manages the shop and does clinics on everything from Czech Nymphing to Fly Tying. Andy is revered as one of the most influential fly designers of all time. He has several patterns published with Umpqua Feather Merchants. In addition to tying flies, Andy also does fish paintings that he sells through the shop and at fly-fishing shows. Andy is a regular on the show circuits and can often be seen doing tying demonstrations and presentations. Andy is also a columnist for California Fly Fisher Magazine and has had articles published in almost every major fly-fishing publication over the past couple decades. Andy’s pure enjoyment and love for the sport of fly-fishing is apparent in everything he does. Andy is a prime example of someone who has been able to turn his passion into a career.

Bryan Carter lives and guides in Southern Louisiana. Bryan is one of the funnest guides out there to spend a day on the water with. He Knows the marshes like the back of his hand and always has something funny on the tip of his toung. Bryan specializes in catch and release, sight fishing trips for Louisiana's famous Red Fish.

Alec Griffin is currently the manager of the Uptown Angler Fly Shop located in Downtown New Orleans. Fly-Fishing has become a way of life for Alec. Alec's love of the sport shows through in everything he doe's. Alec runs a tight ship down at the shop, but lives for the days spent out on the water chasing the Giant Bull Reds of Louisiana. In addition to Managing the shop, and booking the local guides, Alec does allot for the fishing community like organizing the annual Salt Water Fly-Fishing Picnic.

Rich Waldner is a retired Marine Curnnel with an affinity for Fly-Fishing. Rich now lives in Southern Louisiana and spends most of his days guiding anglers in the fish rich water of the Louisiana gulf, for Red Fish, Sea Trout and Black Drum. Rich's love of fishing drew him to his area and even though his house and property were engulfed by a 15 foot wall of water during the Hurricane Katrina, he has vowed to stay. Rich is a strong hearted person and eager to share his keen knowledge of the Southern Louisiana Marshes. Rich is also a very accomplished fly tier and has two famous Red Fish patters, The Waldner spoon and Marti Graw Momma.

Justin Rea is one of the hardest working professional fishing guides in the business. Justin Started his career out in the technical waters of the Greater Lake Tahoe and Truckee area. He then went on to become one of the top guides working for Mike and Henry Lawson on the Snake River in Wyoming. In 2000, Justin started spending his winters in the Florida Keys, and soon decided he wanted to move there full time and spend his days guiding the fish rich waters of the most famous region in the world for Salt Water Fly Fishing, the Key West. The Keys is one of the most competitive guide markets in the country. There are said to be more then 300 fishing guides in the Lower Keys. Only through hard work and dedication to the Lifestyle and Job, has Justin been able to carve out a niche for himself. Justin is now one of the most respected guides on the water. If you would like to fish with him, better book quick. His calender fills up months in advance.

Kyle Giampsoli has been casting flies for as long as he can remember. It was ingrained in his blood from a young age by his father. Kyle has now been a professional Fly-Fishing Guide for the past 12 years. It's the only real job he has ever known. He started out his career working in the Lake Tahoe area. Kyle further honed his skills as a guide working for the prestigious Five Rivers Lodge in Montana. These days Kyle bides his time between Montana and the fish rich waters off the coast of Florida. In addition to guiding, Kyle is a signature fly tyer for Montana Fly Company.

Rachel Andras is a full time travel consultant for Fly Water Travel in Ashland, OR in addition to guiding on the Upper Sacramento and McCloud rivers in Northern California. Rachel has over ten years experience in the fly fishing industry. She has done everything from guiding to selling international travel and is widely regarded as one of the, most well informed, cheerful, and highly skilled female anglers in the nation. For over a decade, her love of fly fishing has taken her to fish all over the world, including the Bahamas, Venezuela, British Columbia, Mexico, Tahiti, Christmas Island, Cuba, Russia, Chile, Argentina, and Alaska.

As a Federation of Flyfishers Certified Casting Instructor, Rachel has taught for the Mel Krieger Schools and was the director of the family and children's summer FISHCAMPS for the past seven years. She has been a guest instructor and member of the International Womens Fly Fishers, she is the founder of the Shasta Mayflies (Redding's Womens Fly fishing Club) , and she is a member of the Scott Rods Pro staff. Rachel was also a founding member of the Dame Juliana Anglers in Arizona as well. Rachel has been published in Northwest Flyfishing and The Womens No-Nonsense Guide to Favorite Waters and is a sought after instructor and public speaker on a wide variety of fly fishing topics.

Lefty Kreh is one of the most notable figures in the sport of Fly-Fishing today. His Books, Videos, Magazine Articles, Photography and Life Experiences over the course of the last 40 years have earned Lefty a spot as an Icon of the sport. Lefty is credited with touching and inspiring more individuals, through his articles and lessons, to start and learn this beautiful sport, than any other single individual in history. Some would say that Lefty is one of the most successful and accomplished members of the Fly-Fishing community of all time.
