Another terriffic show. I have been a fan of Craig for several years and own a couple of his CDs. I can't wait to get the book I won tonight. The signed copy will hold a special place among my fly fishing library. Thanks so much. Also, I want to thank you Roger for continueing to provide the great entertainment. I think I have downloaded and listened to every episode on my iPod.

Excellent show. Your presenter did a great job asking your quest speaker topical questions and keeping audience's attention. I know that when I get to Yellowstone I will be better aware of when, where and what to expect. Thanks and Merry Christmas

★★★★★
Great show. I live only about 3 hours from Yellowstone National Park and have done very little fishing there. I picked some pointers from the show and some encouragement that it might be worth my effort to spend some more time there. And maybe I can find some water that is not inhabited by more fishermen than trout.

This last show was the most informative one you have had yet. Also, you can be assured that I will stop in at the Blue Ribbon Fly Shop the next time I am in West Yellowstone.

I enjoyed the show, although I was disappointed to not hear Craigs response to my email question about the failure of the Hebgen Lake dam this summer. This was a nailbiter situation for the Madison and Hebgen lake fisheries this year, and i still havent heard if it is fixed.

★★★★★
I thought this was a great show, and could have lasted several times longer, as rich as the fly-fishing is in that premier area.

★★★★★
It was great to hear Craig talk about fisheries in Yellowtone Park. His knowledge of the area and successful strategies are outstanding. His books and DVDs tell you everything you need to know to have the best chance for an outstanding trip. I have fished the area for many years, and have a summer home in the area now. but still picked up some useful information. Just one good idea can be very valuable. Thank you for sponsoring this and offering access to your archive of similar shows.

I really enjoyed the show. I actually got to listen to about 90% of it. I thought Craig did a great job of discribing the area and tactics for fishing differant times of the year and conditions. It was very obvious that Craig loves the Firehole and the Slough Creek areas. I appritiate the passion he showed for fly fishing and his willingness to share with others. I have never hired a guide before, but after listening to Craig I think that my next trip west I will deffinately be hiring one. I have traveled thought Yellowstone a few times but have not fished there. My family and I are planning a trip for 09 though Yellowstone and then up through Missouls and on to the Yaak. I definatly think se will be staying in Yellowstone for at least a few days. Thank you guys for what you do. I thouroly enjoy the show and your website. Thanks again, and if you ever get to my neck of the cornfield here in Illinois, drop me a line and we'll get some big Bluegills or smallmouth.

★★★★★
I really did enjoy the show. I've been coming to your area for 10 years now and I learned stuff I never knew. It was a cold dreary night back here in TN and I just kicked back, made notes and enjoyed. Thanks for answering my question on the show. I still can't believe that the gentleman, in Wy., typed in the answer "Firehole" faster than I did. Oh well, another day. I do hope that your show revisits the Yellowstone area again soon in '09. I will be listening for more. Thanks

Roger, Loved your comment regarding an encounter with a mother moose on Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. I grew up living on Elmendorf and remember a reminder in the news paper reminding parents to tell their children to beware.

★★★★★
The show was great. I learned a lot and am going to have to get his book. I fish up there quite a bit and was not dialed in on the size of flies he recommends. Plan on doing more fishing there next year and will use his book for preparation

I thought the show was very interesting. I have a friend who has been taking annual trips to West Yellowstone for the past seven or eight years. He always tells me I need to go, and next year I think I will try to work it in. Craig's interview was very in depth and more informative than one could ever get from a typical fishing and river report. Thanks for having him on. I receive the Blue Ribbon e-newsletter every week, but this interview was way more than I get from that.

You have done it once again, Roger!!! Craig Mathews is one of the best fly fisherman in the West, especially for the 2000 miles of water in and around Yellowstone, and the Madison River. I use his shop, for guiding, advice and supplies, whenever I am in West Yellowstone with my family (even when I want to fish the Henry's Fork, I use their guides). I met Craig and his wife, Jackie, over 8 years ago. I own all of Craig's books and DVDs and wish I could fish up there more often. His passion for YNP and the waters around it, so how could it be anything but an awesome show. I have received his enewsletter for years, just to keep me plugged in to the world of YNP. Craig's expertise, and fly design, is applicable wherever, in the world, you might look for trout, because he understands insects, and trout behavior, so well. Fantastic Show. P.S. I also like that he spells his last name the same as I do, but no relation (my family's from upstate NY, not Michigan. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

I lived in Billings, Montana in the early 60's. I'm planning a trip this summer and the program was exceptional. Excellent information on the area. I also listened to Kelly Galloup presentation on cripples an spinners. I fish a Quigley cripple on Lake Manzanita in northern California and the Fall River. Kelly's presentation added alot of additional information. Good program

Great show. Have been fishing inside the park for 15 years and still learned some good info. For the people that have never been to Yellowstone before, Craig was dead on...Thank you for a great service.

★★★★★
Great show! I love the podcasts, but this is my first live show. Many thanks to the Capt. for his answer to my question. I gotta fish with this guy. I'm not a newbie angler, just new to fly, so a lil' ol' 100 lb Tarpon will not make me wet my pants.

The name of the spawn cluster fly Joe is referring to is "Mark's Carpet Fly". It was developed by the late Mark Stottard. Here is a link to Carl Coleman's web site with the recipe for the fly. The small thumbnail image is broken, but if you click on it, it opens up another window where you can see a larger picture. http://www.colemansflyshop.com/archive.cfm?FlyID=26 Thanks for keeping the archive online. I love the shows.

I met Craig in his fly shop last July. I am new to fly fishing. I had three months experience prior to fishing Yellowstone. My friends Bob and Rob, who I went on the trip with, both respect Craig for different reasons. Bob respects Craigs tatics, and Rob uses many of Craigs patterns. So being the new guy, I already knew how important Craig is to fly fishing and concervation. I have to say Craig was the most down to earth man I have ever known. I asked about wading boots, and Craig was ready to fit boots with me. He answered all of our questions with great detail. Often when someone gains fame and or money they change, not Craig. You can tell in five minutes that the man you are talking to is there in that shop because he loves fly fishing with all of his heart and wants nothing more than to share that love with the people who enter his fly shop. I'll be back in Yellowstone in two years. That place changed my life forever. If there is one place you should visit befor you die, make it Yellowstone.
