“Great show. I've never before heard such an extensive and easy to follow explaination of turnover on lakes. Thanks Roger and Brian.
Roger....come fish the Peninsula, you have a place to stay.”
“My first time to listen. I was impressed with Brian Chan's knowledge and his ability to answer questions in a way that I could use the information. I am looking forward to the next program.”
“Unfortunately I missed the first 25 minutes due to work.....I think it was a very informative show and answered a lot of questions I have thought about pertaining to diploids vs triploids and stocking protocols.”
“This was a very informative show. Also my name is Daniel and thanks for the year subscription to FFF magazine. I especially learned about the runoff turnover replenishing the river with oxygen within five days. I have been tying flies for over 42 years now. I knew of the thermocline layers but the oxygen replentishing was new to me. Very nice show I will try to tune in on Febuary 3rd for part two.”
“Great show guys...I learned a lot about the turn over on lakes, very interesting...Thats great that you guys are doing another show to cover more questions...I was the guy that asked about the triploids getting larger and living longer than triploids...I forgot to put my name in I guess...I live in Medicine Hat Alberta...Thanx guys..”
“The show was very good. Questions were answered and he covered things in a very professional manner. I did gain some good knowledge on our area here in the midwest from some of your listeners. I especially liked Brian's depth of technical knowledge. I am anxious to read the books that Brian referenced in his program and look forward to his next program. ”
“The show with Brian was one of the best yet. Brian has so much knowledge about lake fishing, I'm going to listen to the taped version once it gets posted. Thanks so much for hosting this program!”
“I briefly discussed the show with Brian, after the end of the show. I thought it went VERY well. As a friend of Brian's but also as someone who he has mentored for 15 years or so, I have promoted the program on two Canadian websites that I'm associated with. My very prejudiced perception is that Brian's expertise, knowledge and willingness to share it with others is clearly evident. The high QUALITY of the questions were surprising to me, you are to be congratulated on the level of intellect that your show has garnered. Well done. ”
“I found that the information was very informative and well delivered. It is important to understand the structure and working mechanisms of lakes if you plan on fishing them successfully and Mr. Chan has delivered a preliminary education to that effect.I look forward to the next installment.”
“I did listen to the show and it was very informative. Especially when it comes to the regeneration of oxygen after the spring thaw. I did not know that as the thaw happens it takes about five days to reoxygenate the water as the it is turning over onto itself and that there was a specific temperature that this happened 39 deg F or 4 deg Cel. It was a very informative show and I can not wait till the 3rd of Febuary for the second half of it. Thanks to Brian Chan for clearing up a lot of points that I was curious about for several decades. I will hear part two on the third.”
“Hi Roger.....
I think the show was great, the Questions were well presented. You, yourself hosted the show very constructively. I am not one for sitting to long, but I'll be damned I sat the 11/2 hrs.I even took notes and sat another 15min thinking of it..
Now Brian. Isure would like to thank him over and over again,as sure he is are local boy, but he is now retired I believe and I thought this was very thoughtful of him to take his retired fishing time and share with us and then do another show on Feb 3 Brian is very clear on his explaintion and acurate as well so to speak,,,Been There Done That!!!!
I also like the way when asked the question the answer is clear and there is no hesitation .. So again thanks to you and Brian and sponsors ......PS I hope I was not too long on comments but dammit it needs to be said. Thanks.”
“This was the most informative show I have listened to,and lucky us,we get a repeat on Feb 3rd. If you don't get through your remaining 6 pages, you had better schedule a third or even a fourth if need be. Thanks again.”
“Brian Chan was a good choice for a speaker, very good information. Also, happy to hear you will have a follow-up show to address more topics and questions. Thanks. ”
“Very much enjoyed Brian's insight. He was able to take a complex issue(s) and through his words have them understandable to the lay person. Learned more in the 1 1/2 hour than from any book I've read. Look forward to his second show.”
“I love listening to Brian.I've seen you fish Lieghton and Tunkwa Lake before as well my father said he has fished with you. Thanks to you and Rick Basok for Morgan Lake. My question to you is the Island lake beside paradise resort, is it stocked by fishery's as well is there a few good caddis lakes you may suggest? I call my father Lieghton Lake Larry.”
“This was an excellent show featuring an expert in the field. I will be looking forward to part 2 and any further parts as you make your way through the nine pages of questions for Brian that you have already received.”
“It was great, looking forward to the 3 Feb interview. I have told several of the members of the Fly Fishing club that I belong to about it. Thanks for having Brian, I have talked to him a few times, when fly fishing in Kamloops. ”
“I enjoyed the show. Explanation of the 3 types of Lakes and lake turnover. I haven't listened to total show but I am planning to do so shortly. I have been listening to the archived shows. I am learning from them. Great listening Thanks”
“Kudo's to your show.I had time to listen to your archive from previous shows and was looking forward to Brians show, and was'nt disapointed .Feb.3 is marked on my calender for more great informative still water facts and fishing tips, from beginner to sage we'll all enjoy the show.We have some early midge hatches coming up on some of our north Olympic Peninsula stillwaters, there's something about big trout on a small pupa that just gets ones blood going. Thanks for all your time and knowledge.”
“Superb program with Brian Chan. Valuable detail especially for me on my favourite waters, and the universal lake info. Thanks for putting my question to Brian as well. ”
“Thanks for having Brian Chan on your show. He has been and still is the driving force, that keeps our Provincial Fisheries Dept. going in the right direction. He is as well an avid fisherman and fishing author, fishing is one of his great loves. Just watch and hear him on his DVD'S when he gets a fish on!”
“This was an excellent podcast. Brian is very knowledgeable and informative. He gave the best explanation of lake turnover that I have ever heard. I had always had a hard time understanding exactly what turnover was and why it happened. His explanation gave me a clear understanding of the whole issue. Great job!”
“I really enjoyed both of Brian's shows - he is an incredibly good speaker and is capable of making some difficult topics understandable to a broad range of people. Even though the vast majority of my trout fishing is in streams, I will look forward to putting some of the information to use during our summer vacation. ”
“I listened to both shows and enjoyed them both very much. Brian knows stillwater fishing as well as anyone I have heard or read in the sport. He was quick to share his knowledge in a very humble way. This was very refreshing. He was very generous in giving credit to others. I will be using his ideas and experiences a lot this summer.”
