“Not until the very last question did this interview engage Simon Gawesworth at the proper level of question. I was very disappointed to have to sit through questions such as What is a spey cast? I admit that I am very annoyed that the questions I worked hard to compose were crumpled up and thrown in the trash. Simon was right that the bio was too long.”
“I found Mr. Gaweswirth easy to listen to, informative, and entertaining. The subject of 'Spey and Single Handed Spey casting' is difficult to grasp with only audio and no visual explaination, but he did an excellent job, although I think more questions surfaced than answers to my questions.
Living and building custom fly rods near our Gulf Coast, I do know saltwater is not a venue for spey casting off the bow of a flats boat. I do however, make numerous 10 foot Sage X Axis fly rods for long overhand casts. Boat drift, speed and accuracy in a cast while managing excess line in a wind is our nemisis.”
“The show with Simon Gawesworth about single-handed spey casting was quite interesting. I enjoyed the variety of topics covered. Simon's general demeanor and presentation style is very pleasant. Makes you wish you could spend an afternoon fishing with him...even if he prefers simply casting. I would recommend having him on again for a future webcast.”
“I was very impressed with the presentation. I have long wondered how I could present a Spey type cast with a single hand rod. Very well done. Thank you. ”
“I enjoyed the program but trying to describe the process of single-handed Spey casting was probably an impossible task, unless the listeners were already pretty much familiar with either single- or double-handed Spey style.
I did like the suggestion of enjoying some Spey single malt Scotch while learning and, later, using the technique”
“Good show. Simon Gawesworth is as knowledgable as they come when it comes to spey casting, whether double or single handed. Your show was great in covering the topic and responding to questions on the subject.
As it happens I had the pleasure of taking a spey casting class from him in Calgary just 3 days before your show.”
“Another great show, Roger! I just listened off Itunes. I used to live in NM and I learned a bunch. Doc knows about his area and has great passion to share the information. Now I have ANOTHER place to try fish. Thank you.”
“Since the show, I've listened on my Ipod twice and still get new information. Consequently, I've signed up for several spey sessions at the FFF in West Yellowstone this month. I was really ready for Simon's session. Thanks so much.”
