He is a senior field staff for NOLS and their Wilderness Medicine Institute, leading first aid, rock climbing, backpacking, and whitewater courses. Ostis currently serves as a Rescue 3 International Swiftwater Rescue Instructor, a Swiftwater Instructor Trainer for the American Canoe Association, and owner/instructor of Wilderness Rescue International.
