REVIEW
“For thirty years I’ve been fly fishing while traveling the West on business. We always knew about the Green and Provo rivers. But now we have the fly fishing low-down on the rest of the state. We should all thank Steve, visit Utah and enjoy the fly fishing this state has to offer.” --Bob Zeller, seasoned road warrior and author of the No Nonsense Traveler’s Guide To Fly Fishing In The Western States

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Steve Schmidt was drawn from Ohio to the famous powder snow of Utah when he decided to attend the University of Utah. While an undergraduate, he spent summers exploring the great fly fishing waters of Utah and the West.
Years of guiding, working in shops, tying flies and fishing the state (over 100 days a year) led to Steve’s vocation. In 1986 he opened Western Rivers Flyfisher in Salt Lake City. The shop is now recognized as a premier source of fly fishing equipment, guiding and information in Utah and the West.
Steve spends much of his time on conservation efforts to preserve and protect natural resources. He serves on the board of Swaner Preserve, and is very active with the Henry’s Fork Foundation. In 1996 he received the Friends of Trout Award for his work on the Provo River.

Steve has combined over 25 years of knowledge with current information from other top fly fishers in the state into this guidebook. He explains how to explore and fly fish in the mountains, high desert and great flatlands of Utah’s varied terrain. Lots of detailed maps show you what took the experts years to discover.
