Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and, he turns into a dry-fly catch-and-release angling fanatic up to his liver in icy water wearing ridiculous waders and an absurd hat, pestering trout with three-pound test line on a thousand-dollar graphite rod, and going on endlessly about Royal Coachman lures that he tied himself using muskrat fur and partridge ...
--P.J. O’Rourke

ALWAYS QUITE NICE to see your words in print, as in A Fish Ate My Homework, a primer on fly-fishing by Rick Robinson and Wade Dehate. My contribution is a brief remembrance titled "The Day it Rained Fish," one of the strangest of fish stories in that every word is true. Ask my ever-truthful wife, Elaine, who witnessed the event. Perfect book if you want to get into--or simply enjoy--fly-fishing. --Jack J.A. Kerley, Author of the Carson Ryder series
