Housantonic River - Trout and Smallies
with Torrey Collins

Torrey Collins has guided and fished the Housatonic River for over 20 years. It's one of a few places where you can enjoy fishing an Eastern river for both trout and smallmouth bass. There's no doubt that there are trophies are in the river and Torrey will share with us his secrets of catching them on a fly.

Great show, I'll definitely be making the two hour drive to the Housatonic River this Spring. Torrey was an excellent guest a wealth of knowledge and maybe you should have him back in the summer and fall to talk specifically of fishing the river during those specific times. Thanks again.

Great Show! Torrey has a lot of knowledge about the river and was generous in sharing. Roger did really well to guide the conversation but stay in the background. It was really neat that you got into the discussion of european nymphing at the end. You could tell how enthusiastic Torrey was about this topic.

I really enjoyed Torrey's talk on the Housantonic. I enjoyed it so much, I took a trip to CT this past weekend and had a free orientation of the upper Housatonic Trout Management Area (TMA)with Torrey. Great broadcast...very helpful. Its a beautiful river!!!!

Great show. Lots of good information. It made me want to jump in my car and head to the Housatonic. Have to wait for better weather, though.

Very informative and I had no idea the Housantonic was THAT good. I like the variety and though I don't get away much for fishing trips, I'd be tempted to head south to try the Housantonic if the opportunity came up!

The discussion on the Housantonic River was great. I went to college in Providence and always heard rumors of how great a fishery it was. I especially liked the entomology that was given. I had no idea that it was so diverse.

I found the show to be very interesting. the guest was obviously very knowledgeable. Since I fish the Housy in MA, I would have liked a little more coverage about that area, but the info imparted should be helpful on any stretch of the river. Good Show!

Last summer I traveled through northwestern Connecticut. and crossed and traveled along side the Housantonic several times. It looked interesting, but time constraints would not allow me to fish. Now I know what I missed. Thanks. Very enjoyable and informative.
