Steve Perry is the Program Lead for the Colorado Springs chapter of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF). He began working with PHWFF by coordinating a fishing trip on Tarryall Creek, Colorado in 2010. In late 2012, he began work as a Trip Committee planner for the Colorado Springs chapter. Having also worked as a fishing mentor, Steve has been the Colorado Springs Program Lead since early 2013.

Project Healing Waters
Steve is the Program Lead in Colorado Springs, Colorado for Project Healing Waters. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings. Steve retired from the US Army in 2004 after 21 years in Special Forces. After the military, he began working in the defense industry for companies such as L3 Communications, Lockheed Martin, and Scientific Research Corporation. He has spent much of his professional career working in Program and Project Management fields. He has managed at levels from small teams up to $200 million programs.
Being stationed at Fort Carson, CO prior to retiring from the Army, Steve began fly fishing in 1998 and instantly found the perfect mix of relaxation and challenge. Being a disabled veteran himself, Steve has been motivated to help veterans and soldiers less fortunate than him. Understanding firsthand the value of fly fishing, his involvement with PHWFF was a perfect mix of his outdoors passion, professional background, and desire to help service members and veterans in need.
Steve lives in Colorado Springs, CO and maintains a house in Jefferson, CO within casting distance of Tarryall Creek. He is the proud father of three children, Alicia, Julia, and Kyle. When not fly fishing, he also enjoys big game hunting, hiking, and motorcycle riding.
