Deke Meyer
Fly Fisher/Fly Tier/Author
Deke Meyer is a free lance writer from Monmouth, Oregon, where he lives with his wife Barbara, who also fly fishes. He tied his first fly from a kit that arrived as a Christmas gift when he was 13 years old.
His first size 10 fly had wings more suited for a size 6 fly, but with practice and working on the proper proportions, his flies got better and he caught fish.
His articles have been featured in most of the major fly fishing and outdoor magazines. His books include: Float Tube Fly Fishing, Advanced Fly Fishing For Steelhead, Saltwater Flies - Over 700 of the Best, McKenzie River Journal, Fly Fishing Inflatables, Hot Bass Flies, Tying Steelhead Flies, Tying Saltwater Flies, and Tying Trout Flies.
Today Deke spends most of his time fishing and enjoying retirement.
