Davy Wotton really shined on our show last night. He knows the White River in Arkansas better than the back of his hand. What impressed me about this river system is how much fishable water there is – over 90 miles. The White River can be fished 365 days a year; however, the thing you need to beware of are the water fluctuations that can take place from the dam releases. This information is available from the dam managers and it would be wise to check out the release schedule for the time you want to fish. If you want to listen to the show go to Fly Fishing Arkansas’ White River. Davy even devluges the fly he used to catch his 25 lb. 6 oz. brown trout. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for turning me on to Davy’s show, I frequently visit Mountain View, but can easily take a detour to White River this year.
Love the blog, and have added it to my regularly visited list.
Thanks
Another great show. Heading down there this spring.
Great river to fish.
I was down on the White River not too long after this show and got to get a little info about fishing and life from Davy Wotton first hand. Great guy and he is fishing in one of the nicest trout rivers in the nation. We got lucky and had a week of no generation from Bull Shoals dam. Once the fish settled down I about wore my rod out catching fish and came close to a grand slam several days. Big browns and oh so fat rainbows in that river.
Just want to say what a great blog you got here!
I’ve been around for quite a lot of time, but finally decided to show my appreciation of your work!
Thumbs up, and keep it going!
Cheers
